Resident Program

Department of Dermatology offers 1-year/ 6-months resident programs to board-certified dermatologists from hospitals all over China. Enrollment qualifications include Bachelor degree above, 2+ years clinical experience, medical license and consent from his/her affiliation. The application deadline for spring term (admission in February) and autumn term (admission in August) is November 30 of the previous year and May 50 respectively.


Residents will be verified their qualifications, and upon admission will receive orientation training organized by the hospital and an entrance examination. Those who passed the examination will enter a 2-week intership, during which their performance will be evaluated comprehensively against the requisite criteria of formal practice.

2. Design of the program

(1) Theoretical teaching: classroom instruction (160 class hrs) + 30-plus lectures on special topics (120 class hrs) + 20-plus case discussion (120 class hrs) + privilege to attend all trainings and workshops hosted by the Department.

(2) Trainings on clinical skills: rotation in clinics, inpatient wards and other divisions.

1. High level of acquisition:

Diagnosis and treatment of herpes simples, herpes zoster, verruca, impetigo, folliculitis, furuncle and carbuncles, erysipelas, cutaneous tuberculosis, tinea capitis, tinea corporis, tinea cruris, tinea manus and pedis, dermatophytids, Malassezia Folliculitis, scabies, insect bites, contact dermatitis, eczema, atopic dermatitis, stasis dermatitis, urticaria, angio-edema, drug eruption, pruritus, neurodermatitis, psoriasis, erythema multiforme, lichen planus, lichen striatus, pityriasis rosea, SLE, dermatomyositis, scleroderma, pemphigus, bullous pemphigoid, vasculitis, panniculitis, acne, seborrheic dermatitis, alopecia areata, androgenetic alopecia, vitiligo, chloasma, ichthyosis, keratosis pilaris, aniacinosis, cutaneous amyloidosis, xanthomatosis, nevocytic nevus, Verrucous nevus, nevus sebaceous, angioma, seborrheic keratosis, syringoma, milia, histiocytoma, keloid, solar keratosis, basaloma, squamous carcinoma, Baowen’s disease, syphilis, gonorrhea, condyloma acuminate, genital chlamydial infection, and herpes progenitalis. Emergency treatment to laryngeal edema or anaphylactic shock caused by acute urticaria, severe drug eruption, lupus encephalopathy, heart failure and multiple organ dysfunction.


2. Moderate level of comprehension:

Diagnosis and treatment of Hand-foot-mouth disease, leprosy, chromoblastomycosis, sporotrichosis, candidiasis, paederus dermatitis, cysticercosis cutis, occupational dermatosis, physical dermatosis, pityriasisalba, erythema annulare centrifugum, Linear IgA dermatosis, dermatitis herpetiformis, rosacea, freckle, melanosis, ashy dermatosis, familial chronic benign pemphigus, hereditary epidermolysis bullosa, palmoplantar keratoderma, Vit A & B deficiency, cutaneous porphyria, acrodermatitis enteropathica, Paget‘s disease, lymphoma, melanoma, tumors of cutaneous appendage, chancroid, AIDS.
