Key dermatological laboratory of PLA receives inspection of Health Department of General Logistics

 

On June 12, Key dermatological laboratory of PLA at Xijing Hospital received on-site inspection by Mr. Zhou Xianzhi, vice minister of The Health Department of General Logistics, in accompany with Prof. Wang Qian, vice president of Fourth Military Medical University, Mr. Yin Weihong, chief of Scientific Research Department, Mr. Dong Xinping, commissar of Xijing Hospital and Ms. Jin Xia, vice president of Xijing Hospital.
 
Mr. Zhou and his entourage carefully heard working report of the laboratory, inquired different fields of research and their prospect of application, visited lab facilities and investigators, and examined research achievements. Vice minister Zhou expressed high appreciation to the research work and lab establishment, and pointed out that it should give full play to better serve the army by providing quality medical and scientific services.
 
Scientific research and lab establishment have long been a rewarding highlight of the Department. With the energetic supports from the parent university and hospital, it has made brilliant achievements. Equipped with top-ranking research team and state-of-art facility, it has been assigned dozens of important national and military projects, including national major drug development projects, NSFC key projects and major international cooperation projects. Our pioneering report on fatal bacteria granuloma after trauma was awarded first prize of Military Medical Award, work on psoriasis received National Prize for Progress in Science and Technology and First prize of Shaanxi Prize for Progress in Science and Technology; work on vitiligo is in the application for Shaanxi Prize for Progress in Science and Technology as well. The laboratory is also home to 11 national patents for invention, some of which have been produced for daily clinical practice. In the last decade, more than 110 publications were accepted by SCI-indexed journals, including 8 on Journal of Investigative Dermatology (a journal with the highest impact factor in dermatology), 14 papers were with IF>5. The lab also published 15 monographs as the chief editor.
