Research interests:
Genetic variations of genes and skin disorders; melasma; vitiligo; and skin cancers including
melanoma
 
Dr. Chunying Li was trained as a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Epidemiology, The
University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, U.S.A, between Jan 2005
and Feb 2007.  Her research interest is molecular epidemiology and translational research with
a focus on the association between genetic variations and skin diseases including cancers.
Using the collected DNA samples from the patients and healthy control subjects with
questionnaire data, she is planning to do further research to reveal the genetic background and
the interactions with the environment factors and the associations with skin diseases. She is
also an active dermatologist, mainly serving the patients with melasma, vitiligo, and skin cancers
 including melanoma in the clinic. Dr. Li has published more than 30 peer-reviewed articles in
English.
